Cookies Policy
Last updated: 6 May 2026
GigScenes uses the smallest set of cookies we can get away with — what's needed to keep you signed in and to count visitors in aggregate. No advertising, no third-party trackers.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let us keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand (in aggregate) how the site is being used.
GigScenes uses cookies sparingly: only what's needed to run the platform and to measure usage in a privacy-respecting way. We do not use third-party advertising or marketing cookies.
Cookies we use
Essential (always on). Required to keep you logged in, remember your role, and protect against CSRF attacks. Without these, the platform doesn't work.
Analytics (always on, anonymous). Cloudflare Web Analytics — counts page views and unique visitors without using third-party cookies or fingerprinting. No personal data leaves your browser.
Preferences (set on first interaction). Remember things like your selected city or whether you've dismissed a notification. Optional but improves the experience.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| gs_session | Keep you signed in | 30 days | Essential |
| gs_csrf | CSRF protection on form submits | Session | Essential |
| gs_role | Remember your account role | 30 days | Essential |
| gs_city | Remember your selected city | 1 year | Preferences |
| gs_consent | Remember your cookie choices | 1 year | Preferences |
| _cfuvid | Cloudflare bot/abuse protection | Session | Essential |
Third-party cookies
We don't use any third-party advertising, marketing, or social tracking cookies. No Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar.
Cloudflare sets its own essential cookie (`_cfuvid`) for security and bot protection — this is a first-party cookie set by our domain.
Stripe handles payments in an embedded checkout. Stripe cookies are set on Stripe's domain, not ours, and only when you reach the checkout step.
Managing your cookies
You can clear cookies anytime via your browser settings. Be aware that clearing essential cookies will sign you out and reset your preferences.
When we add optional cookies in future (we currently don't have any beyond preferences), you'll be asked for explicit consent first.
You can also block all GigScenes cookies via your browser's privacy settings — but the platform won't function without the essential ones.
Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we'll update this page and notify you via the platform.
